You can be sure that the louder some public functionary or politician inveighs against the evils of, the more money he's taking from the dealers. Legalization would cut off this extremely lucrative source of income for organized, so even they want the present system retained. 4. laws include grossly injust things like seizure of propery even though the owner is in no way at fault. 5. Law enforcement is so distracted by issues that a lot of petty just gets ignored. 6. Present laws intrude on personal -: if someone likes to smoke marijuana, why does the state care? It's only to protect, tobacco, and alcohol interests and the jail industry that the present system survives. Legalize all and give the real addicts whatever they need for free, like medicine. And then guess what? You'll be able to leave your car and your front door unlocked because no one need to do petty BE's to pay for their next hit. No, we won't all become addicts. If that were true, it would already have happened. are that easy to buy. And yes, I include dangerous like meth, cocaine, and heroin in this proposal. Yes, LSD, peyote, mushrooms, and all the rest. If someone wants it, let them have it. The present system is broken; change it and whatever you end up with can't be any worse, and probably be better.
