I was a semi retired Man by choice, not disability or age. I am working full time now to fill my days, (and get health insurance) but time is what I place value on! I try to be a good Steward and practice the 4 Rs. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Re-purpose. Im not fanatical just responsible. I try to live a" debt free" life style and enjoy the flexibility it provides. I own outright my home, old truck and almost everything else. (Just bought a car on payments) What can I say! But I believe in always sharing the blessings I do have. Just think of all the possibilities if you didnt have to pay a house payment, or loans of any kind! Thats true freedom. But along with all that comes frugality and doing things in moderation. I was once a successful Business owner and married for 30 years. Im no longer either and beginning the process of dating for the first time of my life! Ive traveled around the world and seen many beautiful places. I am well educated and enjoy a lively conversation. Most men my age have a bucket list but I was blessed to have already done most, if not all of it already! Now its time to settle down to enjoy the simple joys life can provide. Its been a difficult journey at times but being a happy, well adjusted, successful person isnt measured by the car you drive or the power you maintain. Its the relationships you build, Its in the friends you keep and Family.
I have found that even though I do enjoy my privacy and alone time its just not enough. I was a provider for so many years (three grown boys) I seem to be missing purpose. Im just not whole. I need my other half. The balance of companionship. I dont know if you can understand that, but its honest.
I enjoy fixing things now and working on my old house. I think that supplies me with some gratification. I enjoy period pieces on TV like "The White Queen "or any "Masterpiece " shows. I enjoy cooking and even more savoring good food. I am eating and I am in excellent health. Balance and moderation is key.
