There has been proposed legislation advocating for equal parenting rights. To date, nothing concrete has happened. Apparently, the political does not exist amongst our elected leaders to take action. As for divorced dads such as myself….They say you can’t fight city hall, imagine trying to fight the justice system. I certainly don’t have the money, time or resources to fund a court battle against the court itself. It’s all I can do to work a full time job to pay the bills and put food on the table after giving away one third of my income in support to my children’s unemployed (by choice) mother who, of course, was awarded custody. And why would she want to work? Re that support formula. By design, it creates a disincentive for the custodial parent to work.
